Bike Share

Forth Environment Link and the Active Travel Hub are playing an important role in bringing bike share to both Falkirk and the wider Forth Valley. Bike Share is a service in which bicycles are made available for shared use to individuals on a short term basis.

We are working with bike share provider Bewegen, to deliver the UK’s first cross regional partnership electric bike share project, supported by Transport Scotland, SEStran, NHS Forth Valley, Clackmannanshire Council, Stirling Council and Falkirk Council.

The first phase of the £350,000 project will see 100 fully electric bikes made available across key locations in Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling by the summer of 2019.

We believe e-bikes will help encourage even more people to get back in the saddle, offering a real alternative to the daily commute with top speeds of 15.5 mph. More information on the bikes can be seen here.

Bike & Go

Bike & Go is a flexible bike hire scheme operated by Scotrail and available at 12 stations in Scotland and across the UK. It’s perfect if you only need a bike sometimes – so you can pedal off to the shops, the park, or out on a full-day adventure.

How does it work? You’ll need to register, and pay a £10 annual membership fee. Then it’s just a low daily hire rate of £3.80 a day. Pick up the bike at the station, and drop it back when you’re done.
